Being recognized as the predominant Assyrian denomination in the Central Valley, California, the Assyrian Presbyterians started worshiping together in the 1926 and decided to establish their own church. On January 13th 1926, the Assyrian Presbyterian congregation established an official church. With the assistance of the Presbyterian Board of National Missions, fund-raising activities and labor contributed by the Assyrian population, the church was completed and dedicated in 1927 at 450 South Palm Street, Turlock, CA 95381–it’s current location. As the very first Pastor of the church, Rev. Dr. Elisha David served until the establishment of the official title in 1956: St. John’s Assyrian Presbyterian Church.

Currently, Reverend Edward William Eissabake serves as the Pastor of this church, leading the many members of the body of Christ towards the biblical, righteous path of faith, hope and love.
